city of Clawson is a small residential community
located 5-1/2 miles north of the Detroit city
limits and about one mile west of the Chrysler
Expressway (I-75). This fully developed community
is 2.4 square miles in area and is bounded
by Troy and Royal Oak. According to the most
recent estimates, there are approximately
13,000 persons living in the City of Clawson.
Clawson
was incorporated as a Home Rule City in
1940. It is recognized as a progressive
community with stable government and excellent
services. Volunteers and service clubs play
an active roll in promoting community throughout
the year with various activities such as
Citizen of the Year, Home Beautification
Awards and on of the largest week long 4th
of July celebrations in Metro Detroit.
The
downtown offers a variety of small shops
and restaurants. A large mall and shopping
are just minutes away. Clawson combines
small town amenities with convenient access
to all big city events.
